Diabetes
Understanding diabetes and managing blood sugar effectively.
What Is Diabetes?
Diabetes is a chronic condition that affects how your body converts food into energy. Without enough insulin or resistance to insulin, glucose builds up in your bloodstream instead of entering your cells. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form, accounting for 90-95% of cases.
Types of Diabetes
Type 1 Diabetes
Autoimmune condition where the body produces little or no insulin. Usually diagnosed in children and young adults.
Type 2 Diabetes
The body doesn't use insulin properly. Most common type, often related to lifestyle factors and genetics.
